Representative David Schweikert is a 61-year-old Arizonan Congressman.

David Schweikert is a former Businessman and has been involved in the state legislature of Arizona for more than 30 years. Schweikert was a Majority whip in the state congress and also served as the Maricopa County Treasurer.

He has served 6 terms in the United States Congress and is currently in his 7th term.

Schweikert holds multiple chairs. Most importantly he is on the Ways and Means Committee and a chairman of the Oversight Committee.        One of Schwiekerts primary methods of reaching his constituency is through press releases on his campaign website. These press releases have been more spaced out but recently have ramped up and become increasingly consistent, likely in anticipation of the election. Primarily these press releases are used to credit claim and position take.    Schweikerts preferred social media platforms are  Twitter  and  Facebook . While he does use these platforms to position take and credit claim, he does not do so regularly.     I n his last election in 2022, David Schweikert won by less than one percent of the vote. His opponent  was Jevin Hodge a Democrat hoping to take advantage of the newly drawn district's increase in independent voters. Hodge insisted that Schweikerts earlier finance violations which cost him a 125,000 dollar fine would be sufficient to win him the election. That turned out not to be the case. What this election showed to opponents of Schweikert is that it will take more than a scandal and redistricting to win this seat.       As mentioned previously the district faced considerable demographic changes after redistricting in 2022. A trend seen in Schwiekert's district was independent or moderate republican voters shying away from Schwiekert due to his proximity to Trump.
